World Martial Arts Tourniment
Apr. 26th, 2014 03:51 pmToday is the second day of the tournament. I didn't have time yesterday to say anything about it. The competition is pretty fierce in my division. It makes me happy to see so many people participating in the Karate division. Especially the little kids. It makes me think back to when I was really small and just met my sensei for the first time. That was so long ago. I've come a long way since then.
Later today, I have my points competition. After that, I'm to do a demonstration of a style of Okinawan karate that only a handful of people know and have mastered. My sensei is the 5th of 5 who are considered masters of Tomari-te. I hope one day to be the 6th.
Then tomorrow, the last day of competition, will be full contact. I've been watching my opponents. One of the ones in my division has been world champion 5 years running. I think it's about time his reign is ended.
