desk duty

Due to actions I was required to take upon an investigation, I've been regulated to desk duty. I've been told it's only for a few weeks while I go to my department mandated counseling. I'm not happy about that. I understand the need, but I'm still not happy about it.

It does give me time to do all the paperwork involved. I've a mountain as tall as I am over one little bullet Rest assured that those in my division will continue to work on cases and I will still have my hand in them as well. I might be chained to my desk but a Captain is a Captain and I can still lead. Especially since gang violence has risen since the incident.

Then I'll be chained to your desk. And not in the fun way. But at least I get to enjoy my office and good coffee. I'll start wheelbarrowing the paperwork in.

And I know the answer, but is there any chance I can forgo the touchy feely counseling. I shot people in Iraq. This is no different for me.

Thank you. I appreciate this. The paperwork does as well. It'll end up going home with me. And probably to your parents house, if we're still on this weekend for that.

If you can't, I'll take my head shrinking like a big boy and try not to send them running and screaming into the night.
