off the desk, on the job and rumors

It's nice to be away from the desk again. I missed being out there. It's still too damn cold, but if being stuck behind a desk is the alternative, I'll choose freezing any day of the week.

There's a lot of street work to catch up on. Violent Crimes is always a very busy place. As much as I wish it wouldn't be, it does give me a lot of work.

I've also been hearing rumors in the station. There are some promotions coming up throughout various departments. Mine might be one of them. I'll find out Monday. If my department is one of them, there will be promotion paperwork to fill out for myself and anyone else shooting for higher positions. I think this will be a piece of paper I'll gladly fill.

I think there's a small contest between myself and Genichirou for who brings in the most arrests. Unspoken of course. So far, I think he's ahead by three...but I'm back in action, so I'll be pulling ahead soon.

Right. There's no slacking off with him. And I think he does. Or I hope he does. ...I...I do. It's something I'm still working on being able to say it more. It's...difficult for me. But I really do feel that way

Told him that I respect him and hold him so highly? I thought that was pretty much obvious without me putting that out there. I've told him I've loved him a few times. Maybe twice or three times...I don't think he's ever said it back, but that's okay. He'll say it back when he's ready.

Maybe means that I'll be drinking more of his coffee than he will. I'm no coward. I can tell him straight out over morning coffee. Very. I've never been happier. I'm a lucky man.
