I'm really disappointed and angry right now. That promotion; I didn't get it. Though of the applicants, I was probably the best choice, it was given to someone else. I was taken into the Superintendent's office and he explained it to me.

It all boils down to one thing.

I'm Okinawan. I'm Okinawan and the other applicants were Tokyo born.

He told me that no one would take me seriously because of that one thing.

It doesn't matter that I have JSDF service and a great arrest record. It doesn't matter that I do my job well and that I can lead a team. Because of my island roots, no one will respect me or listen to me if I were promoted at this time. Maybe next time, after I've proved myself more.

So that's how it is. I have to prove myself? Fine with me. I'll show that closed minded idiot what an islander can do. Next time, I won't get passed over.

Yeah I now. The amount of prejudice in this country is sickening. I mean so what if you're Okinawan? You're still Japanese. You're also probably better than most of the force (Sanada excluded because bias~) combined and deserve the promotion!

And you're almost right. I am better than most of the force, but Sanada and I are on equal footing, though I think I'm two arrests ahead of him right now. But we all know it's not marret. It's obviously who's more acceptable to the little mainland sheep.

Our beautiful Brazillian bald bombshell~ haha he's a powerhouse. Of course we liked him! But beyond what he could do for the team he's a pretty cool guy and yeah we learned that 'outsiders' aren't really outsiders if we let em in. We were all on the same time and all. Your boss obviously doesn't realize that or the advantage of having you fill the promo. It's his loss not yours.

If only others could learn that. And it is his loss. Like I told Genichirou, I can always wait until the man screws up and then sweep in. Unless Genichirou gets fired...Then I'll still sweep in until such time as we can figure out what to do.

Y'know that ain't a half bad idea. Maybe you can even vie for your bosses job that way~ But hey if they're still giving you shit there's better places to work and more police departments in other areas of the city.

I have a feeling I'll be calling Genichirou boss before that. But you're right. There are other stations. Linear transfer is pretty easy. There's just a lot of paperwork involved.
